Are You Ready for the Big C?

To some, the BIG C means big cancer that needs to battle about.  But this blog does not refer to that big C.

Are You Ready for the Big C?  Are you ready for Big Commitment?  Yes! C stands for commitment.  There are different types of commitment; but since this blog just featured about relationship, it's time to talk about commitment.

When you enter a relationship, it's inevitable that you commit yourself to other person.  You have to share your time, emotions, etc.  In other words; in anything you do, you have someone to share yourself with.  A commitment is like an investment, just minus the interest.  Mentally and emotionally and probably spiritually, you devote on making the other person happy.

So, are your ready for the big C?

Relationship 101

Committing into a relationship is no joke at all.  As the old adage says “It takes two to tango.”  There is no perfect formula on how a relationship last, but certainly there are some effective ways to make a relationship work.

If you want your relationship to work and last longer, apply T.L.C.  Yes! TLC could mean tender loving care but it could also be trust, love & communication.

Trust.  This means you don’t to have to be jealous.  You may say jealousy is normal, but it is not.  When there is jealousy in a relationship, trust for both parties may be tainted.

Love.  When you love somebody, you think of the other person's happiness.  It shouldn’t be because he/she makes you happy.  Love should be unconditional.  You allow yourself to be part of someone’s life and accept someone into your life. This means you care and you share.

Communication.  “Actions speak louder than words”.  But would it be better that you act and speak how you feel toward a person?  Open communication allows you to listen and comprehend the thoughts and feelings of the other person and vice-versa.

What Cools You @Summer?

Summer is the time of the year when people are exposed to heat even inside their abode.  Especially in a tropical country like Philippines, we try many things in many ways just to keep us cool during summer time.  What cools you @summer?

Beach/Resort?  Some would go out of town and spend couple of days in beaches or resorts.  Some find it relaxing to cool down when diving into cold water from the pool or sea water from the beach.

Malling?  Some would go to the mall and stroll endlessly the whole day.  The coldness from the mall gives comforting mood that is sometimes taken away due to hot weather that summer brings.

Refreshing Coolers?  Some would take coolers like fruitshakes, frappes, and any other cold beverages to quench the thirst that the summer heat has brought.  Or some prefer to eat cold food like ice cream or sundae.  But here in the Philippines, the most popular during this time of the year is Halo-halo.

So, what cools you @summer?

What’s Your Summer Getaway?

What time is it, it’s SUMMER TIME!  The best time of the year to face the sun and have fun is summer.  I may not have enough resources to go to exquisite summer getaways, but I sure know where to be even just here in the Philippines.  There are more than 7,000 islands to explore and I am not even close to 50 islands.  It’s in my bucket list, to visit at least 50 of the 7k+ islands of the Philippines.

So far, I’d been to few famous destinations here in PI.  My family and I loved these places and wanna go back again:

Boracay.  My 1st visit here was our honeymoon.  My husband and I loved the white powdery sand.  Then after 10 years we went back here with our children already.  It was my husband's gift for our 10th wedding anniversary.  We love this island so much that this summer 2013 we will go back again to celebrate my eldest’s high school graduation (sort of graduation gift).  Every visit in this island gives different experiences to us.  Who would get tired going back to an island that is almost a paradise?

Puerto Galera.  At first, I was hesitant to go here.  I heard that going here would be difficult due to the hassle and bustle commuting (land and sea transfers) coz it’s best advised to use public transportation.  Thank God to internet!  I was able to get a good package which gives hotel and transportation accommodation. We got a reasonably priced package.  We lived like royalties with private bus and boat!

Bohol.  There are so many places to go to in Bohol.  3D4N vacay would not be enough to explore the whole island.  But I got a good accommodation arrangement that definitely made our stay worthwhile.  If ever you’ll visit Bohol, don’t fail to include these tours; Countryside tour (get the chance to see the famous Chocolate Hills, Man-made forest, Loboc River and of course the Tarsiers), Dolphin Watching, and E.A.T. Danao (special arrangement).

47 islands to go!  Yeah, I must say…”It’s more fun in the Philippines!”

Summer Time! Be Beach Ready.

Summer! This is the best time of the year to go to the beach and show-off your body more often, since you need to wear lesser clothes.  But the question is do you have your coca-cola figure yet?  Of course you don’t want your love handles to be shown once you wear your bikinis.

Here are some tips to shape up your body to be beach ready in no time:

Change your diet.  Get away from fatty foods, especially the meals from fastfood chains.  Eat more fruits and vegetables.  Fruits and vegetables have low calories and help your skin radiate.  According to Juliette Kellow BSc RD “Eating more fruit and veg is essential both for good health and to help us lose weight. Most fruits and vegetables are low in calories and fat, and high in fibre – three essential ingredients for successful weight loss. Most also contain plenty of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, all of which are important for helping us to look and feel our best and to protect us from disease.”

Burn your calories.  Never finish your day without an exercise.  Make sure you have an hour a day for workout.  Have a 30 minute cardio activities to help burn calories and 30 minute yoga or other body exercise to boost burning more calories.  Find a workout that is suitable for your body type and strength.  You may ask a fitness coach for more effective workouts for your body.

Be a sleeping beauty.  Never allow your day to have less than 8 hour sleep.  Your body needs at least 8 hours of straight sleep so that it has time to rest and repair.  Sound mind, sound body.  Sleep is the key.

Hydrate and detoxify your body.  Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday.  Water helps a lot in hydrating your body which is very good to your skin and at the same time it helps in eliminating toxin in your body.  The more you drink water the more you hydrate and detoxify your body.

Mind over matter.  Set a starting date to allow yourself to do the aforementioned tips.  Once you’ve decided to start, be consistent.  In two weeks, you’ll see a gradual change.  Then, don’t stop anymore.  Don’t quit!  You don’t want to be a loser, don’t you?

Valentine’s Gift: For Him or Her

Valentine’s Day is the day of the year that you can really be extra romantic.  And part of the romantic gestures you can do for your partner is to give him/her a valentine’s gift that will tickle his/her fancy more.

Gifts may not always be material things.  They can be anything that would let your partner feel special.  Here are two gift suggestions that he might like:

Exotic Massage.  After spending your valentine getaway, for sure he/she would gladly like to have a massage especially from you.  Try to acquire some essential oils that can help you do the job.  You don’t have to be a professional masseur/masseuse.  What matter most is you’re there for your partner to ease up his/her stress and draw positive energy from you.  This will also be your way of showing how you care for him/her.

Porn Video.  It’s not always about you and your partner making out.  Why not try watching together a porn video?  See how he/she reacts when watching with you.  And this maybe your opportunity to share more about your sex fantasies with him/her.  Through this, you may discover something else about your partner when it comes to sex.
